trying new things
Trying something new everyday is a terrific way to keep the mind flexible, and my friend Laura Plumb returns to this practice often. Case in point... my first paid on-camera gig for a political ad. I'm playing an environmentalist mom here, right in my comfort zone. For these three lines we must have shot 25 takes from different angles! Bob Sly was great to work with, very low-key and professional.
It's also my mom's birthday this week (one of the big ones) and she's flying to Maui for her first real vacation that I can remember. Talk about being open to trying new things! When she grows, I grow, and that's how we change the world... one horizon opening experience at a time.

Oh, Sally, what a gorgeous Environmentalist Mom you make! They are so lucky to have you - the integrity of such alignment shines so bright. Is this the beginning of a stellar rise? Watch out TV Land!
ReplyDeleteIt's a whole new world, getting comfortable with seeing your own face on the screen. I'd love to do more work like this, where the project matches my values, but I could do something silly too. I'll have to see what appears!
DeleteI love that you say when your mom grows. you grow too. All moms should had that.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really do feel her continuation in me, and that this equation works in the other direction too. Happy Mother's Day to all moms.
